Do you use some version of the word "hinky/hinkety/hinckty"? If so, what is the definition?
I use this word and it tends to make
dionysus1999 laugh. I think the version I use and the definition I'm thinking of when I use it is different than the way other people use it and spell it, and a browse through http://www.urbandictionary.com confirms that.
hincty:

hinky:

hinkity:

I'll note which version I used and what my definition is in the comments.

"Hinky? What the hell does that mean?"
"Hinky. I don't know...hinky, you know? Not right."
. . . typical lieutenant grumbling about wasting time and money on a case that's already been put down.
I thought it was a funny word.

Date: 2007-05-22 07:59 pm (UTC)I use hinky with computers, because it seems totally inappropriate. "Yeah, I'm looking into that problem, so far there's something hinky in the logs."
