Researching and writing the "Teaching Birds to Talk" article made me feel nostalgic for the parakeets I kept as a kid. I got the first one at age 10 or 11 and owned a total of four throughout my adolescence. Sadly, none but the first lived more than a couple of years. I was looking at photos of budgies and wanting to kiss their fuzzy little heads. I don't miss cleaning the bird cage, though.

Look what I made!

Go ahead & click the link- it's pretty: "Easy batter blackberry cobbler"

I used this exact recipe in a 9-inch pie plate. The only change I made was using brown sugar instead of white for the final TBSP of sprinkle on top. I used frozen blackberries, and it turned out fine. The recipe calls for 50-60 minutes bake time, and it's sheer torture smelling those lovely berries for the last 15 minutes or so...
