July 9-15
Total days active: 7 out of 7
Total days did full body stretch: 4 out of 7
Comments: Not so good with the stretching this week, but I'm doing pretty good. I woke up with my hip bothering me this morning, but lately, it's amazing how NON-ouchy I've been considering how active I've been. For the last few months, my activity updates have been counting walks from the parking structure to my office and back as "activity," and on the days I have been doing weights, I've largely been doing an abbreviated weight workout (i.e. only one set on major muscle groups instead of two). The last few weeks, I've kicked it up a notch, and it's been fine. I've been sore the day of and a little the next day just from muscle fatigue but have had a lot less bursitis and/or repetitive strain pain. I got a massage a couple weeks ago & I think that helped some.
For a taste of what I've been up to, here are some particulars of my more meaty workouts:
July 3: 55 minute outdoor biking with J. (working our way up to progressively longer rides)
July 4: 1 hour biking Washtenaw's Border-to-border trail with J.
July 7: 10 min. elliptical, abbreviated weight routine, 15 min. treadmill, plus walk to/from work
July 9: One hour 45 minutes of outdoor biking the B-2-B trail with J.
July 11: 15 minutes on the elliptical, full weight workout (i.e. two sets on all upper body muscles plus abs), 15 min. on treadmil
July 12: One hour 45 minute biking a different part of the B-2-B trail with J. and a friend
July 14: 15 min. treadmill, full upper body weight workout, 15 min. elliptical
The July 12 bike ride included walking our bikes over the Huron River via the dam at Argo Park - that was fun. Feelin' good, and hope to keep it that way!
