We live within a 10 minute walk of Willow Run Airport and 20 minute ride of Detroit Metro airport, so the sound of planes overhead is not at all unusual at our house. However, I just looked up over the computer screen out the window and saw (and heard) a big bomber fly over; it was probably leaving after an appearance at an airshow at the Yankee Air Museum, which is on the grounds of the Willow Run Airport.
Kinda cool.

That plane probably lives at the Yankee Air museum. You can get rides in it-- I want to do it but was a bit costly for me.

I've been a bunch of times, last time was this Memorial Day-- free open house.

I've written at least 3 or 4 articles and columns on the museum for my paper, as well. It's a cool place, and even cooler to get the tour from someone who's been a volunteer there for many years.

You could be right that I saw the resident bomber plane. It's like $400 to go up, as I recollect.

When I went I was standing out in front of the hanger when the bomber landed and pulled up. I had run away becasue that plane was coming right at me! I have seen the plane may times flying over but was most impressed with its polished aluminum splendor.
