Jan 8-14
Total active days (cardio, weights and/or yoga, at least 10 min.): 6 out of 7
Total days did a full stretch: 3
Comments on activity: Some days were only small bits of activity, like 10 minutes of shoveling snow plus the walk to work from the parking structure and back, but that's OK. Two days, I went to the gym and did some more intense exercise, like the elliptical or my full weight routine. I think I get different benefits from moderate exercise than I do from more intense exercise, but it's all good.
Comments on stretching: Three out of seven days is better than one out of seven, but I still want to work on making this a habit. As predicted, I tend to remember to do a full stretch when I go to the gym better than when I exercise at home.
Other thoughts on health: In December, I had my yearly physical and got my labs done. Thyroid: normal. Cholesterol, a few points above the "ideal" range but still well within normal. And yesterday, I had my first dental appointment in about a year, and with a new dentist. I like her, and my more consistent flossing habit seems to be paying off, since she didn't have to do as much scraping as I expected. Of all the health goals I've set and achieved recently, getting back to near daily flossing is one I'm most proud of. I was a once a week or so flosser, and I've become an almost-daily flosser. Most weeks, I floss every day. I do forget once or twice a month, but forgetting has become the exception instead of the rule. This makes me happy.
