When people on my friends list were doing the music lyric thingie, [livejournal.com profile] mogwar had some musicals on her list, which got me thinking about musicals and theater in general.

Here is a list of 10 theater-related "facts" about me-- only, one of them is a lie. Can you pick out which one is the lie?

1. I played the character Rebecca Gibb in my hometown's community theater production of "Our Town" when I was 9 years old.
2. I wrote, directed and produced a play with my best friend my senior year of high school.
3. I had a bit part as a member of the Salvation Army band in a high school production of "Guys and Dolls."
4. I was in the chorus of "Oklahoma!" in high school.
5. I once played one arm of the giant "Audrey" plant in a production of "Little Shop of Horrors."
6. I played the crotchety old Aunt in a high school production of "The Miracle Worker" (the story of Helen Keller).
7. Jeff and I took my two nieces, both under age 7, to see a community theater production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat" and they sat quietly through the whole show.
8. My sister, my mother and my father were all in a production of "Brigadoon" in the community theater.
9. I saw a community theater production of "West Side Story" while high on weed.
10. I played "Ma Barker," the head of a gang of outlaws, in my 6th grade play.

#7 is clearly a lie. There's no such thing as quiet six-year-olds.

Hrm. I was sure it was #10 as I thought Sarah was skipped ahead of the 6th grade.

I just figured that since she and I share a brain, she was skipped ahead of the third grade. Besides, Sarah would be too good as an outlaw for that not to be true.

Could it be #9? Sarah using weed? Seems doubtful.

That's probably it. She's much too sweet, innocent and pure to do anything like that.

I was thinking maybe #5 ... but picturing Sarah as a man-eater was too easy.

Trick question? It wasn't "West Side Story?"

(I'm sticking with Dave on the Pure and Innocent thing.)

OK, one hint. The one about my nieces is actually true. I was as amazed as you all are that they sat through it quietly, but they did. They LOVED the show and sat their with their mouths shut and their eyes wide open through the whole 2.5 hour show. It was actually probably a good choice for little ones, with the singing, dancing, and colorful costumes-- they didn't get a chance to be bored. Their mother (my sister) is very musical and dramatic, and they're both growing up to be little drama queens, too (they're teenagers now).

I know a couple of those are true, but other than that, I have no clue. So I'm picking #4, more or less at random.
