The biggest contributing factor to me ending up with a headache and/or neck ache at the end of a given work day seems to be not adequately moving around on the second of my ten-minute breaks.
I know the value of taking a break, and yet I don't always do what I know is best for myself. If I take the break but use it to read, eat, or check email, it doesn't do nearly as much good as taking a brief walk. So, I hereby resolve to:
1. Walk for at least a few minutes on my afternoon break, every workday, even if it's just up and down the stairs in the lobby; and
2. Do four or five simple stretches to loosen up my neck and shoulders during this break.
