I used to sleep on my back, but since I started having allergy and sinus issues, I've started sleeping on my sides, almost exclusively. This is because if I sleep on my back, I snore, and wake myself up. Sometimes, I have issues with both my hips and/or my right shoulder, so I'd like back-sleeping to be more of an option (minus the snoring).

I've been wanting to check out pillows especially for back-sleeping, and I was assuming I'd want something in a U-shape, like this:

But what I ended up purchasing and trying out last night was this half-cylinder type one:

I changed positions several times last night, and realized a couple times that I was on my back and was NOT snoring for a change. I'm going to try it another night before I decide if it was worth the price. But, so far, so good...

I have that exact same pillow. I use it for my legs: between when I'm on my side and under if I'm on my back. It's amazing the difference it makes on my lower back. It also amazes me that I can switch positions including the pillow position without waking up now.
