What I've been reading

"Anatomy of Deception" by Lawrence Goldstone. A Victorian medical thriller. Not as good as I had been hoping, but above average. After I finished it, I enjoyed reading up on the real historical figures who were characters in the book, like pioneering surgeon William Halsted and painter Thomas Eakins.
and
"Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell. It's been praised and panned for its intricate structure. The book is a series of interlocking stories, and some of the stories are more compelling than others. However, overall, I'm really enjoying it. I'm not quite done but expect to finish it this weekend.
