On a semi-related note, I recently read a column by Paul Campos, with whom I generally agree, saying that there aren't many "true atheists" in this country, citing as an example that even atheists use statements like "We ought to do this or that." He seems to be making the leap from "no belief in god" to "no basis for morality/ethics" which I think is a big, unsupported leap.
