What I've been reading
Mar. 19th, 2010 03:06 pm"Strange Things Happen: A Life with The Police, Polo, and Pygmies" by Stewart Copeland - free in installments from dailylit.com. Copeland dishes a lot more about his musical and film side projects and playing polo than he does about his life with The Police, but it's a lot of fun.
and
"Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See. The story follows two Chinese girls - in the days of footbinding and secret "women's writing" - from youth to old age, the hardships they go through, and a misunderstanding that threatens to tear their deep heart-friendship apart. I wasn't initally sold on the book, but by half-way through, I got *really* sucked into the story and cried all the way through the last chapter.
My full comments on both books here.
