A month or two ago, I was listening to NPR, and they were talking about world hunger and the growing number of families who were trying to feed themselves on a dollar a day or less. They mentioned that people weren't necessarily going hungry all the time, but often had to make hard choices about, say, paying the health insurance premium or eating dinner.
That must have stuck in my mind, because a few weeks ago, I had a dream that I *needed* to make a donation to a World Hunger charity. My dream even told me that I needed to check out charities via one of the organizations that rates charities for how much of the money donated actually makes it to the end user.
So, a couple days ago, I looked up on
Charity Watch which organizations had the top ratings and clicked the website of the A+ charity. Action Against Hunger happened to have a paypal donate button, and I happened to have some money in Paypal from my Associated Content earnings from the last few months, so I donated most of the money in my account to Action Against Hunger. That money was extra that I didn't need and won't miss, and someone else can use it, so it seemed like a win all around.
I don't usually use such a non-logical method for determining where I donate my money, but it seemed like the right thing to do.
