I found that many Ms. Magazine stories are archived on-line! These were some of the ones that were the most fun or interesting, in my estimation:

How a male feminist got a portrait of feminist pioneer Mary Wollstonecraft out of a closet and on display (includes a link to the full text of her treatise "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman"):

Why viagra or nasal sprays are NOT the answer to women's lack of libido or "sexual dysfunction":

Did you know the suffragettes used bullwhips to beat back their enemies? A history of women and whips:

Fat links

I've been accumuting links about size acceptance and fat activism, and here are a few I particularly liked.

Casa Gordita contains a veritable treasure-trove of fat activism links. The page formatting is annoying, but the info is good:

The website "such a pretty face" is an index of more links for fashion, activism, etc. for fat folks:

Learn more about making peace with food and the bathroom scale at "Beyond Dieting" (a commercial site for a therapist who deals in food and body image issues, but there's lots of free information here):

A convincing case study supporting the idea that weight-loss and diet drug companies are exaggerating and/or creating the so-called "obesity crisis":

And one link just for [livejournal.com profile] simianpower. I had no idea there was an animated series called "Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys":

We're heading to the Upper Peninsula to visit the relatives over Thanksgiving weekend, and I likely won't be on-line much or at all until Sunday night or Monday morning. Even after that, I might not be commenting or posting to LJ as often as I normally do since I haven't been able to accesss LJ from work since Monday afternoon. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my work PC or if our IT guys changed our security settings. They're going to give me a new PC while I'm away for the holiday because my security software isn't up-to-date and they think I've got adware/spyware on my current PC. We'll see if I can access LJ from work after the switchover.

For anyone traveling in the snow and ice today or tomorrow, be careful and have a safe holiday!
