Jury selection process
Oct. 7th, 2005 02:20 pmI went to court today to be part of a pool of prospective jurors, and got picked for a trial coming up next week.
I thought it was interesting that our written summons to be on the panel of jurors specified "conservative dress" and I think it even said something specific about wearing jeans, but maybe not. Some people either didn't read it or had interesting interpretations of "conservative." A few women wore jeans, but mostly men were the offenders, like the young white dude with the tattoo on the back of his neck who looked like a Fubu store had exploded all over him. Or the chubby middle aged guy who wore khaki shorts and sandals with white socks. Or the young, pudgy gamer-anime-geek who wore a T-shirt with a hole the size of a quarter that showed off a patch of his white belly. What an odd group.
