Dear Mr. Know-it-all
Jun. 27th, 2004 07:28 pm(NOT directed at anyone on my friends list, just a reaction to debates with a variety of folks over the last few months)
Just because I may refuse to debate a particular topic with you does not mean I do not know what I'm talking about. It doesn't mean I don't have the strength of my convictions, nor that I'm unable to back up my beliefs with evidence.
All it means is that I don't wish to argue about it at this time. Perhaps I feel too tired or overly-emotional at this point to put together a coherent argument. Perhaps I've hashed this issue over with another person several times and am sick of it.
If you choose to believe that my not engaging with you means You Win, that's fine. I don't need to get in the last word, and I am not particularly attached to being right all the time.
