Maybe this is why: Like all methods of birth control, the Essure procedure should not be considered 100% effective
Unless tubal ligation or vasectomy are done wrong, they ARE 100% effective. This one sounds a little less reliable. And, as they state, it's also new. They haven't had time to either perfect the process or advertise much I suspect.
