Re ¶1: Yes, i maybe wasn't clear enough above, but i agree with you on this. If there is some kind of "intake" or "triage" level that can provide that diagnosis, then i absolutely agree that knowing more is better. My argument that dispelling the myth may be a wash only holds if no such diagnosis is available. Again, because AA is not about diagnosis, it's not available there. Is it available elsewhere? I don't know -- i'm sure in some people's lives, depending on their medical coverage, local government programs, or other resources, it is; for others, i'm sure it's not.
Re ¶2;: OK ... yeah, hadn't heard of those. Do you know what the key differences are between those and the AA approach? (Just curious; not necessarily relevant to above.)
