That makes sense to me. I've already made note of certain things that give me heartburn (wine too close to bedtime and taco bell at any time, for instance), and I don't cut them out, but I limit them and just accept that I might have an unpleasant reaction if I choose to consume them.
As a mostly-vegetarian, it'd be really hard for me to cut out wheat and soy altogether and to low-carb it, though many people with thyroid issues say that makes them feel much better. I'm willing to explore those things, but I don't want to become legalistic about it, if that makes any sense.
