Foodie ravings
I love it when I prepare a meal and it looks pretty, like something out of a magazine, in addition to tasting good. I love eating something that tastes so good it makes me moan with pleasure and also knowing that it's good for me as well.
So far today, I've had
Breakfast: a one-egg omelet with button mushroom slices and chopped red bell pepper, and about half an ounce of cheddar cheese on top of a buttered whole wheat piece of toast, along with a clementine and a strong cup of coffee with cream. I tell you, the red peppers and yellow egg and orange of the citrus looked mighty pretty, especially with the morning sun coming in the kitchen window.
Lunch: Mixed salad greens with chopped mushroom and red bell pepper, dressed with low-fat cottage cheese and sundried tomato salad dressing (Newman's, reduced fat), a microwave "pizetta" with tomatoes and basil, a bunch of green grapes, and a diet, caffeine free cola.
Snack: All-Bran multigrain crackers with more low-fat cottage cheese. I like the concept of a high fiber (5 grams per serving) cracker, but I wished they were a little more savory and less sweet. I think these would go better with peanutbutter or jam rather than something savory like cheese.

Had no idea you could get clementines in MI. Cool!! My breakfast this morning has been a bit boring: 2 slices of turkey bologna and some already-made muesli (with vanilla yoghurt, dried cherries and a few pecans). Oh, and a cup of Throat Coat tea. Not half as gastronomically appealing as yours, I'm afraid, but it hit the protein bill for me. Yours sounded ever so much prettier (and tastier)!! :-)
