Sinister Duck

dionysus1999 got a photo of the strange orange light and the duck from last night. The duck is tiny and blends into the shadow, so you can't see it unless you look closely.

The web rumor mill has it that http://www.bugmenot.com is defunct.

This was a website that helped the privacy-minded get past those annoying registration screens so you could read articles at registration-only sites like the New York Times or the Washington Post. I'm pretty bummed as I used to use the service multiple times a week.

The site was available again this afternoon. The rumor mill has it that it was recently featured in the news, and it got so many hits that the site went down for a while. Yay!
